Sexual health and contraception

You can get tested for sexually transmitted illnesses (STIs) such as chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis or HIV free of charge at different places in Lund, Malmö and Helsingborg. If you need advice about contraception or a pregnancy test, we refer you to a Midwifery Centre (Barnmorskemottagning).

Lund STI Clinic (Hudmottagning genitala sjukdomar)

The Lund STI Clinic (STI-mottagningen) is located at the University Hospital's skin clinic (Hudmottagning) at Lasarettsgatan 15 near the main University Library. To book an appointment, call +46 (0)46 17 21 13 or +46 (0)46 17 11 65 on Monday 08:00–17:00 and Tuesday – Friday 08:00–16:00. When you call, you will first hear a long message in Swedish, followed by information in English.

SESAM Clinic (SESAM-mottagningen)

The SESAM Clinic (SESAM-mottagningen) is located at Capio Citykliniken at S:t Laurentiigatan 10 in Lund. To book an appointment, please call +46 (0)46 280 1400 on Monday–Thursday 08:00–16:00 and Friday 08:00–15:00, or book an appointment online. The website is in Swedish, please click on 'boka tid' (make an appointment) under the heading 'Sex- och samlevnadsmottagning'.

Centre for Sexual Health (Centrum för sexuell hälsa) in Malmö

If you live in Malmö, you can get tested at the Centre for Sexual Health at Claesgatan 7. To book an appointment, call +46 (0)40 33 17 47 on Monday–Friday 10:30–11:30.

Helsingborg STI Clinic (Hudmottagning sexuell hälsa)

In Helsingborg, you can get tested at the STI Clinic at Helsingborg hospital. To book an appointment, call +46 (0)42 406 23 09 on Monday–Friday 8:45–9:30 or Monday–Thursday 13:15–14:00.

Contraception

To get advice about and a prescription for the contraceptive pill or other forms of contraception, you need to see a midwife (barnmorska) at a Midwife Centre (Barnmorskemottagning).

The morning after pill

The 'morning after pill' is available from pharmacies (apotek). This pill can be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex in order to prevent pregnancy, but keep in mind that it does not protect against any STIs.

P6 (Project Sex)

P6 (project sex) is an independent student organisation that works to promote sexual health on a phyiscal, emotional and social level. The P6 website presents information about sexual health in both English and Swedish.
