Sustainable Urban Design student ambassador Wrishitesh

Introducing Wrishitesh Sarkar

Hi! My name is Wrishitesh and I'm the student ambassador for the Master's Programme in Sustainable Urban Design. I am happy to answer questions you might have about the programme, courses, student life, life in Lund and Sweden. Please note that I cannot answer questions about the application process, scholarships or residence permits.

My experience so far

During my Bachelor's studies in India, I was informed about this multi-cultural and diverse university, and I always wanted to study here at some point during my architectural studies, which came true last autumn. I would say opting to study here was one of the most successful choices of my life since the course enriches my inventory for a sustainable design analysis and solution, which I feel can be implemented irrespective of country and climate zone. The environment here itself is also satisfying, as I now have an awesome group of friends in our batch who have come from countries all over the world, including Sweden.

Interestingly, the climate here is also very active and dynamic, similar to the place, and people never cease to surprise me. One thing that I have had to get accustomed to, coming from a seasonally defined region, is that of the sudden short but frequent rains throughout the year, even during the chilly winters. Just a chin up with a common Swedish proverb: 'there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.'
