This thesis examines how artificial intelligence is portrayed in the short story “Verde rojo anaranjado” by Mariana Enríquez. Using literary analysis grounded in David Roas's theory of the fantastic and Bernardo Kastrup's philosophy of Analytical Idealism, this study explores the narrative strategies used to create a dystopian and unsettling atmosphere, focusing on how these fantastical elements contribute to a critique of the risks of artificial intelligence. This
work, employing the genre of the fantastic, allows questioning the growing technological dependence and its potential consequences for humanity. The results of this analysis suggest that the real danger of artificial intelligence may derive less from its autonomy and more from how it reflects and exacerbates human prejudices and fears. Additionally, it concludes that the dystopian narrative and characterization of artificial intelligence in the story serve as a metaphor for contemporary anxieties about technology and dehumanization.
