Final year Bachelor's students

Before starting a Master's programme at Lund University, you must have completed your undergraduate degree.

Can I apply for studies if I am in the final year of my Bachelor's degree?

In general, Master's programmes require a Bachelor's degree as a basic admission requirement.  If you are in your final year of undergraduate degree studies, most programmes will still accept your application to the programme. This is known as an application with 'qualifications pending'.

You must include with your application:

  • an official document stating that you are registered for the last semester of your undergraduate programme
  • an official transcript of records of your studies thus far.

You must be awarded your undergraduate degree before you start the programme.

University Admissions in Sweden has created a template for students to give to their university to complete and confirm their final-year Bachelor's degree status. You find the template on the University Admissions in Sweden website as follows:

Final year of Bachelor's studies

Please note, that if you are a final-year undergraduate student enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Sweden, and your academic records are registered in Ladok, there is no need to provide a certificate or proof of current enrollment regarding your ongoing studies.

Once you have completed your Bachelor's degree studies

Official documents of your completed undergraduate degree must be submitted to University Admissions in Sweden as soon as you receive them and before the start of the programme. In most cases, you can either upload the original document to your account at www.universityadmissions.se or send certified copies via regular post to University Admissions in Sweden. Remember to follow all document certification rules and any country-specific instructions when submitting your documents. We recommend that you also bring your original documents to Lund, in case of any questions regarding your documents.

Please note: Your status (conditionally admitted) may not change in your account at universityadmissions.se after you have submitted your final documents, but the documents will be registered by our local admission office at Lund University before the start of the semester.

If your final transcript is not available by the start of the programme, you will not be able to start the programme. This applies to all applicants, both EU/EEA and non-EU/EEA applicants.
