Libraries

Lund University has one of the oldest and largest research library networks in Sweden, with 24 libraries on campus and around 200 librarians.

In addition to the 24 libraries, the electronic library collection includes around:

  • 700,000 e-books
  • 50,000 e-journals and 
  • 200 databases.

Lund University Libraries

The University Library (UB), founded at the same time as the University in 1666, has a vast collection spanning more than 2,000 years. The collection includes everything that has ever been printed in Sweden.

At the libraries you will find course literature and reference material, as well as computer, group and quiet reading rooms where you can work. Many faculty libraries offer training sessions to help improve your skills in finding resources and information to support your studies.

Open access to scientific documents

Lund University has an Open Access policy, which provides free online access to scientific documents.

Public libraries

There are also a number of free public libraries in Lund, Malmö and Helsingborg. These libraries have a good selection of books, magazines and newspapers in many languages.

Their websites are mainly in Swedish, but some pages may be available in English or have translation modules.
