Apply for your degree certificate
When you have completed your studies at Lund University and meet the degree requirements, you can apply for your degree certificate.
Degree certificate and diploma supplement
Lund University issues digital degrees. If your application for a degree certificate is approved, you will be notified by email. You can then retrieve your degree certificate as an e-stamped PDF file by logging in to Ladok for students/alumni. It comes together with an appendix called the diploma supplement. You cannot apply for a diploma supplement separately.
There is no limit to how many times you can download your degree certificate. You can also send it digitally to employers and other higher education institutions, for example.
Note that you cannot obtain a digital degree certificate for a degree that has already been issued in paper format.
The degree certificate is issued free of charge by the Degree Office, at your request, when you have completed your studies.
It is issued digitally as an electronically stamped PDF. The document is written in both Swedish and English and contains
- the title of your degree (for example, 'Bachelor of Science')
- your major and
- a list of all the courses included in your degree.
You can download your digital transcript as many times as you like. In addition, the Degree Office will continue to provide certified paper copies on request.
There is also an appendix called the diploma supplement (DS). The diploma supplement is written in English and describes the nature, level and content of your education and its place in the Swedish education system. This document promotes the academic recognition and international comparability of your degree, thereby facilitating mobility for either postgraduate studies or employment.
