Eduroam is an encrypted network and is a collaboration between a large number of universities around the world.

Students from other universities that have Eduroam can log in when they are on the Lund University campus. Similarly, Lund University students can connect using an Eduroam network at other universities.

About Eduroam – eduroam.org

Connecting to Eduroam on your computer

Before you can connect to Eduroam, you need to configure your computer settings to Eduroam. For example, your username must consist of your user identity + @lu.se (for example, 'fek14pha [at] lu [dot] se' or 'ab1234cd-s [at] lu [dot] se').

If you have Windows, Mac or Ubuntu, you can use Eduroam CAT (Configuration Assistant Tool) to configure your computer.

Next, you need to import the file to your Chromebook as follows:

  • Go to Eduroam CAT
  • Download the installer (a file with the .onc extension)
  • Open Chrome
  • Go to this page in your Chromebook: chrome://net-internals/#chromeos
  • Click on 'Import ONC file'

Note that this is a so-called silent import, which means that the new network definitions will be added to the preferred networks.

Access to Eduroam outside the University

Through a collaboration between Lund University and Lund Municipality, Eduroam is available at all of Lund's public libraries and several secondary schools.

Through a collaboration with The Cloud and Sunet, Eduroam is also available in several places in Sweden, for example at several airports (including Malmö Sturup), hotels and restaurants.

We also have a partnership with Region Skåne, and Eduroam is currently available at the CRC in Malmö. It will be extended to all the hospitals in the region eventually.
