What is your current job and where is it located?

"I currently work as a Need Planner at IKEA, focusing on inventory management at a global level. My job is located in Älmhult, Sweden."

How did you find your job and how long did it take?

"I found my job at IKEA through LinkedIn. It took me a few months of actively searching, networking, and submitting applications before I secured this position."

Favorite thing about your job?

"One of my favourite things about my job is the dynamic nature of working with inventory on a global scale. It allows me to constantly problem-solve, collaborate with colleagues worldwide, and contribute to the smooth functioning of IKEA's supply chain."

How are you changing the industry or the world (in a large or small way)?

"In my role as a Need Planner, I am playing a part in improving the efficiency of inventory management and ensuring products are available to customers. By optimising inventory levels and implementing effective supply chain strategies, I contribute to enhancing customer satisfaction, reducing waste, and supporting sustainable practices."

What was especially useful about the program that you use in your everyday work?

"The Logistics & Supply Chain Management programme at Lund University provided me with a strong foundation in inventory management, logistics strategy, and operations planning. This knowledge is invaluable in my everyday work, as it enables me to make informed decisions, optimise processes, and navigate the complexities of global supply chains."

What do you miss most from your time at Lund University/LTH? What were the highlights of your time at Lund?

"I greatly miss the vibrant and multicultural atmosphere at Lund University/LTH. Interacting with students from different countries, engaging in stimulating discussions with professors, and participating in extracurricular activities were some of the highlights of my time there. The supportive learning environment and the friendships I formed are what I miss the most."

How international was your programme?

"The Logistics & Supply Chain Management programme at Lund University had a strong international focus. It attracted students from diverse backgrounds, allowing for a rich exchange of ideas, perspectives, and experiences. This international exposure broadened my understanding of global logistics practices and prepared me to work in a multicultural business environment."

What was the focus of your thesis?

"The focus of my thesis was on aftermarket logistics, specifically in collaboration with Sandvik. I explored ways to optimise distribution networks, enhance spare parts availability, and improve reverse logistics processes. This research contributed to the field's knowledge and provided practical insights for improving the efficiency of aftermarket operations."
