Arts and culture, which stimulate self-reflection, questioning and innovation, help us to achieve a better understanding of society and ourselves. They also give us the opportunity to entertain hopes and visions and imagine possible futures, which in turn provides the opportunity to improve our world and the human condition.

To meet our complex societal challenges, we need all disciplines as well as interdisciplinary collaboration, both within and outside the University. It is here, as a comprehensive university creating artistic and cultural knowledge, that Lund University has a key role to play.
