What year did you graduate?

"I graduated in June 2021."

What is your current job and where is it located?

"I am a Research Associate at a start-up in Munich, Germany."

What is your favourite thing about your job?

"As I started the job recently it is difficult to say, but I like that I have the opportunity to design a process!"

How are you changing the industry or the world (in a large or small way)?

"The start-up I work at is focused on finding greener alternatives to things such as plant-based oil, etc. So, I look forward to creating products that could revolutionize the consumer market."

What was especially useful about the programme that you use in your everyday work?

"The programme offered a lot of industrial biotechnology-based subjects and experienced faculty, which helped me enrich my knowledge on these topics."

What do you miss most from your time at LU?

"I miss the university environment which allowed one to reach out to different professors and work with them to gain knowledge. The highlights of my study experience were: the colleagues, the guilds, the nations and, of course, the classroom environment!"

How international was your programme?

"It was extremely international. The Masters in Biotechnology Class of 2021 had people from all across the globe. Although we did have courses with a lot of Swedish students, the starting point of forming a community was the orientation week for international students."

Why do you think prospective students should choose the Biotechnology programme?

"Students should choose this programme if they wish to learn from a university such as Lund University, where you find several opportunities to network with academics and industry experts. This can help to find a job or research opportunity in the future."

Do you have any advice for prospective students coming to Lund?

"I would recommend students to go to career fairs in order to score a thesis opportunity at a company!"
