Host-parasite Interactions
Description
Host-Pathogen Interactions in Infectious Disease Research
My research activities center on unraveling host-pathogen interactions and how pathogens manipulate immune responses to evade host defenses. This includes investigating alterations in coagulation and inflammatory pathways that contribute to systemic infections. By identifying critical virulence factors and immune modulators, we develop strategies to differentiate between sterile inflammation and infectious processes, improving diagnostic accuracy.
A key objective is to translate these findings into novel antimicrobial therapies and precision medicine approaches that target dysfunctional immune responses, ultimately reducing disease severity. Our research addresses the urgent need for innovative treatments against antimicrobial resistance, aiming to improve patient outcomes in severe infections.
